collective action for the planet.
when we started our journey, we started learning about the terrible impact the fashion industry has on the environment.
back in the day, clothing was repaired and re-used and handed down. now, with fast fashion, we consider clothing to be more or less disposable: 26 billion pounds of textiles end up in landfill every year. (that’s billion with a b, btw).
the problem is even worse with children’s clothing, because kids grow out of things so quickly.
we did not want to contribute to the problem.
so we started the #completethecircle initiative.
take pics of you and your kids handing your clothing down, repairing it, or donating it. post them to insta, tag us @thecirclecollective, and hashtag them with #completethecircle. we’ll reward you – with little gifts, discounts, cash back, and other cool stuff.
yes, you can make a difference.
extending the life of a garment by as little as nine extra months reduces its environmental impact by 20-30%. when you as an individual repurpose clothing by donating it or otherwise reusing it, you save 1 ton of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
